nuclear fusion ~ natures fuel

will this be the new source of power? The advantage over fosil fuels are phenomenal, plenty of fuel, no atmospheric pollution, radioactivity of the reactor structure decays rapidly and can be minimised by careful selection of low-activation materials. Provision for geological time-span disposal is not needed. What i like about it is we can use the deuterium in sea water as a fuel. If all the world's electricity were to be provided by fusion power stations, Deuterium supplies would last for millions of years.
Is there a downside to this? Appart from loosing helium wink

Chemical burns and the animalistic, I'm just another hardline pseudo-statistic

Containment.  A mini-sun is a great generator, sure, but it's somewhat hard to keep under control.
