Which force actually slows and stops a yo-yo hanging from a ceiling hook, when it is started swinging by a simple push to one side? Seems to me the gravity is the stronger force pulling it back toward the center of the Earth. Does friction really play a role since air friction would be insignificant compared to gravity?
