Help with finding max compression of a spring!

I am suppose to find the max compression of a spring when an object is thrown downward onto the spring. I have the mass of the object, the height at which it was dropped, the speed at which it was thrown, and the spring constant.
I have tried every equation and theorem I could think of and can't come up with the right answer. Any guidance as to how to get this started would be appreciated.
