Electron spin

Does anyone know if the electron of the hydrogen atom has a preference for it's axis of orientation?

Re: Electron spin

Birddog - you mean whether the electron is spin up or spin down?? It's my understanding that the upness or downness of the spin is relative, so if there's no other electron to compare it to (as in a hydrogen atom) you can't really talk about a preferred axis of orientation.
