I have what may be a dumb question that is driving me nuts. It's for a scene in a story.
If you have a two-story mansion, and a few yards in front of the mansion is a pond of water, could you stand by the pond and see a reflection of the mansion on the water? And on which side would you need to stand? The side opposite the mansion?
Thanks for your help.

Laz. Look down the hallway. It shrinks in the distance. As things move away they get smaller because of parallax. The light coming to your eyes come from a longer and longer triangle.
I call this relativity of dimension.
About your question: try to imagine where the direction of light reaching your eyes is coming from. I don't know if it will help though.

Thanks. I found the answer (I think) at Wikipedia (article on reflection.) The first pic there answered my question.

Relativity of dimension is hardly ever talked about. MC Escher had to understant it I think.
Why do things shrink when you move away from them. Why does space "interval" shrink in the distance? I believe the contemplating of that will give us a deeper understanding relating to space.
