I need help with an equivalent resistance problem. Pls Help!

When two resistors are connected in series, the equivalent resistances is 100 ohms. When they are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is 30 ohms. What are the resistances of the resistors.

Re: I need help with an equivalent resistance problem. Pls Help!

This is a wrong question. Try out the following: r1+r2 =100;  1/r1 +1/r2 =1/30 Simplify and put r1+r2 =100 and calculate  r1 x r2

Next (r1-r2) square= ( r1+ r2) square -4 r1 x r2
Put the values and you tend to get imaginary values.
Some data is wrong.  sad sad
