Advice getting started - Angular Velocity

The 2-kg collar C in the diagram turns along the smooth rod R, which is 1 m long, has a mass of 3-kg and is
mounted in the bearing with negligible friction. The angular speed is increased until the cord breaks, its
maximum tensile strength is 60 N, and at that instant the external moment is removed. The collar C has a
radius of gyration about its mass centre of 36.537 mm. Determine the angular velocity of R and the velocity
of the mass center of the collar when the collar leaves the rod.

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction with this question, hmm I'm not really sure where to start. I don't want any answers, just help on starting out if thats okay.
