Hello I really need help with some of my physics homework so please help if you can. I am not sure how to solve some of these problems.
1. A bullet is shot from a rifle with a speed of 720.0 m/s.
a). What time is required for the bullet to strike a target 3240.0 m to the east?
b). What is the velocity of the bullet in km/h?

a). You have a distance which is measured in meters: 3240m and a velocity which is 720 m/s. You want an answer of time which is measured in seconds. To cancel out the meters use an equation in the form like this
3240 meters 1 second
-------------- x --------------- ==== 4.5 (observe how meters cancel, your left with only seconds for time)
1 720 meters
b).
For km/hour, you want to just convert the same way , cancel the units. you must memorize metric conversion units
720 meters 1 kilometer 60 seconds 60 minutes
-------------- x -------------- x ------------------ x -------------- = (use your calc, learn to setup canceling EQ
1 second 1000 meters 1 minute 1 hour
