Physics education research, electronic materials, and the musings of Christopher Moore, Ph.D.

I need to build a small wind car. It needs to travel at least 8 meters and hit a bowling pin (aka has to go straight). Can't use ramps, record albums, commercial batteries, or fireworks. No toy cars or skate boards, must have a minimum of 4 wheels in contact with the ground. It must being its motion using only the wind source given (a box fan). After it gets started it can use other forms of propulsion, though. The more creative, the better.

Some size requirements: Max width=.5m
Max length=1m
Max height=1.5m
Min height=.5m
Max mass=4kg
Min mass=.5kg

Of course my first thought was some sort of large sail, but I don't think that would carry it 8 meters. Can I get some help on coming up with a design?
