Re: a single theory of unification
it's non-fiction.
imagine you could ask "god" any question you wanted.. and get an answer.
well, you don't have to imagine.. someone else has done it and published the conversation in a series of books.
these are not religious writings however.
they explain, in perfect detail, the very nature of existence..
within these books lies the answer to a complete, single theory of unification.. fact.

Re: a single theory of unification
so this person (author of the book) has supposedly talked to god about the physical purpose of the universe and life in unification and then has written a book about it?????
im slightly confused please elaborate.
Also you said
within these books lies the answer to a complete, single theory of unification.. fact.
If this is only a theory then...how can it be fact annymore than it is your opinion that it is fact?

Re: a single theory of unification
chris - what makes you think "god" is a man..? i suppose you still think the sun orbits the earth also..?!
mitchy t - yes to your first question. why do you want me to elaborate..? read it for yourself. to your second.. i didn't say that this was a theory - i said that they contain all the answers needed to discover a " single theory of unification". and this is not my opinion.. merely an observation.
skrob - the books are published by hodder & stoughton and are available in any good bookshop. the only thing you will need is an open mind.

Re: a single theory of unification
"god" has many "names": the unmoved mover, the is - not is, the all of everything, the beginning and the end, there is nothing that "god" is not.. "god" is life itself.
your humour seems as primitive as your attitude towards evolution..!

Re: a single theory of unification
Please forgive us. We're all just a bunch of monkeys with advanced degrees in physics. We're a little upset that we wasted all that time in school learning the subject when all we had to do was read a book by a college drop out with no formal training what-so-ever.

chris - interesting that you choose the term "we" when my comments were directed towards "you". I'm very sorry that you seem to think of you and your peers as "bunch of monkeys".. i certainly don't.

Re: a single theory of unification
p.s. i don't regard your advanced degrees as "waste of time" either.. i know you are all extremely knowledgable about physics. however, as i'm sure you will agree, there is still more to be discovered.. true clarity can come only when someone is willing to notice there is something they do not know, the knowing of which could change everything. for those with an inquisitive, open mind, and a deep desire to understand the universe, these books are indispensable. they will provide you with the information needed to form a theory of unification. they do not, however, provide the theory itself.. that's up to the brave and brilliant among you.

Re: a single theory of unification
Just so you know, I and a few others are mocking you.
You came to a physics site run by a physicist, moderated by a physicist and frequented by physicists and physics students.
You posted a topic in the Quantum Physics section. Your topic is a promotion of a spiritual text, not quantum physics. You imply that these spiritual texts will lead to a theory of unification (which, by the way, does not belong in a Quantum Physics forum, even if there was real science to back it up.)
Just so you know for the future, when you come to a physics forum and post about this topic, don't expect to be taken too seriously.
I'm moving this topic to Metaphysics.

Re: a single theory of unification
just so you know, i know you and a few others are mocking me.. isn't that what normally happens to someone who dares to challenge the establishment..?! just because i refuse to engage with you on this level doesn't mean i don't understand what you are "trying" to do.
i know i came to a physics site run by a physicist etc.. the name "i love physics" implied that.
i know i posted a topic in the quantum physics section. my topic is related to quantum physics although not exclusively.. as you already know, everything that exists is made up of the same "stuff".. on both a microcosmic and macrocosmic level.. however, physicists seem to be having a problem unifying general relativity and quantum mechanics.. you seem to want to pigeonhole my topic when, in fact, it relates to the whole of physics. obviously you have not (and probably will not) read the text to which you refer. i suggest reading it before you try to pigeonhole it also.
as for the future.. i don't have any expectations.

Re: a single theory of unification
so.. is there anyone out there brave enough and brilliant enough to seek and find the holy grail of science? it does exist..einstein was right. had these books been available when he was alive and had he the desire to read them he would have found it.. the answers to the largest mysteries of life and the universe are in a series of books by Neale Donald Walsch called "Conversations With God".. fact.

What about 'The Way of Truth' ISBN: 0-9532007-3-6
http://gb.bookbutler.info/Crawl.po;jses … 532007-3-6
I can't really find much more info online, but tis a very good book. Gives some alternative insights. The language used may not be very technical- words aren't used for certain specific meanings ( inventing new words to describe new things is quite tough, so general words are used) , but I'm sure you skilled physicists will be able to translate. Of course you may think it's a load of tosh, and thats fine. Just take some time to read it though, tis highly interesting.

Re: a single theory of unification
hmmm well, while we are all being brave here, I guess I could through alittle something in:
(It is verrry metaphysical, so all you bad boy physicists out there, don't come chasing after me with an iron fist of ideas. but I do belive physics and metaphysics/spirituality can walk hand and hand and make sense with one another)
It is a series of books - "Seth" By Jane Roberts.
