need help dont kow what i doing wrong i followed the same steps asbook

a=\sqrt{expression}s(s-a)(s-b_(s-c)
s=1/2(a+b+c)
a=14 b=14 c=20
s=1/2(14+14+20)
s=1/2 X 24
=12
a=\sqrt{expression}12(12-14)(12-14)(12-20)
a=\sqrt{expression}12x2x2x8
=\sqrt{expression}19.5959
=4.426
a=4.6 to 2 decimial places real answear is a=97.98mm2 can someone explain where i went wrong????

a=\sqrt{expression}s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)(s-d)(s-e)(s-f)
s=1/2(a+b+c+d+e+f
a=122 b=122 c=122 d=122 e=140 f=2 the last 2 are the measurement of the lines running through the square like an x wasnt sure if i was to include them cause they were inside the square
s=1/2(122+122+122+122+140+2)
1/2 x 315
=157.5
a=\sqrt{expression}157.5(157.5-122)(157.5-122)(157.5-122)157.5-122)(157.5-140)(157.5-2)
a=\sqrt{expression}157.5x35.5x35.5x35.5x35.5x17.5x155.5
=825051.7811
=908.323
a=908.5m2   2 decimial places real answear a=1.4m2

In the first problem you have written s=1/2(14+14+20)= 1/2 x 24; it should be 1/2 x 48 = 24 Putting this value of 's' in the given expression you will get the right answer. smile smile
