Is the universe finite and unbounded like the surface of a globe? A corollary:if we send a pulse of light,are there chances of receiving it back? (analogous to an ant traversing a globe and ending up at the same point.)

Only if it could travel all the way around the hypersphere. But since the hypersphere is expanding alwys getting bigger and bigger it would take longer and longer .
