Size of the Universe!

Greetings

1.I can understand that the universe is an indefinite structure, due to it's expansion. And i've read that scientists calculated it's exact size, more-less. Now, i've been thinking of the ways they did that and i come up with this: a single dot represented the universe begining, multiplied by the current rate of expansion, for the universe age. Now you can't use a dot, for it's a apstract thought, and you can't be really sure of how large universe was in the begining. Now it got to complicated and i wanted to ask you, how did they actualy measure the size and the age?
2.Are there any theories of what the universe shape is???

Re: Size of the Universe!

How long did it take the universe to expand to the 13 billion light years we see?

Is light speed is always constant from the  beginning of the Universe?

Re: Size of the Universe!

**Universe diameter based on photon.

from the Big Bang theory
If universe had started from at one point
Universe diameter = average light speed(from beginning to the  present) x (Universe age - photon creation period)

If universe had started from certain size
Universe diameter = average light speed (from beginning to the present) x Universe age + diameter of the initial Universe

Present light speed in the vacuum = about 300000km/sec
Is this speed same as the light speed at the boundary(Universe and Nonuniverse) ?

** Universe size based on the galaxy distribution
Universe diameter = average speed of the most far away galaxy(from beginning to the prsent) x Universe age

Re: Size of the Universe!

Thanks for sharing the information regarding universe,Most of the studies of this subject are about celestial bodies that have been set apart in very long distances, which could not be easily understood and imagined by human beings,by the super nature.Universe totality of matter and energy in existence. The problem of determining the age of the universe is closely tied to the problem of determining the values of the cosmological parameters.
