will have a test quetion like this..need help on specific activity!

100 mCi dose of 99mTc at 3PM.  If the initial (7AM) specific activity was 12 mCi/cc, answer the following:

a) what is the specific activity at 4pm
b) what volume is needed for the 15mCi dose?

Im really confused..I dont need the answer, I just need some help getting there! Thanks

Re: will have a test quetion like this..need help on specific activity!

I have no idea what those units are, as I am not a nuclear medical physicist (though I have friends who are, and they make a lot more money than I).

However, my first guess would be that the problem is giving you enough information to define a line for pm vs. activity. You can extrapolate this line to find the activity at 4 pm.

Chemists are physicists that don't do math. smile
