Salutations

About myself.. Hmm..

Well, my name is Derek, I am not a qualified physicist, however I take a great interest in how the world around me operates.  I never say never, when considering a possible theory for an observation made by another.

I have been a fan of physics as a science since I was in my second term of school, and of all my subjects, physics was one I majored in, my teacher was a little depressed that I moved into computer sciences though.

I've a particular interest in physics at the Planck scale, and how all the common 'laws' in the mre macroscopic world seem to either not apply below, or are different.  I liken them to lego bricks personally, definable rules in smaller chunks that, put together, make more complex systems in much the same way that an animal or human being is more than simply a group of single celled organisms performing chemical reactions.

Well, I think I've gone on long enough. :-)  Hope i've introduced myself enough for you all.  See you again soon I'm sure. :-)

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction." - Albert Einstein
