A farmer has two sons. He dies and the will is probated. The terms of the will clearly state that the two sons will ride horses in a race to determine who inherits the farm and all belongings, all of which will go to the son whose horse loses the race.
The race will take place at noon the next day, will be one mile in length, and a winner and loser must be determined within one hour of the start of the race.
Describe the race. How do they ensure that the rules of the race are met?
