Physics education research, electronic materials, and the musings of Christopher Moore, Ph.D.

Hi, I'm Ben.  I have a Master's degree from Baylor University, and will be working towards my PhD at Ohio State starting in September of 2006.  My Master's thesis title is "Grand Unified Theories in Higer Dimensions: From the Heterotic String to Randall-Sundrum", and expect to work either in the same field (Grand Unified Theories) or in more formal String Theory.  I have some expertise in Quantum Field Theory, as well as some of the more (basic) formal aspects of string theory.  I am currently working on Randall-Sundrum model building, but am very interested inthe applications of string theory towards quantum chromodynamics, specifically, the attempts to explain meson states using the AdS/CFT correspondence.   (If that didn't mean anything to you, then just ask!)

I like to hunt and fish, and grew up in Galveston, Texas.  I play guitar and do some physics in my spare time.  And I have the strange ability to write down the exact opposite of what I'm thinking sometimes.  I will try to proofread my posts, but if I ever write something that is exactly backwards, then you'll have to forgive me.
