"How did those failures allow the upper 40 stories of the building to fall for over 2 seconds at freefall acceleration? As NIST states occurred."

I've never heard of NIST making such a claim for either the Twin Towers or WTC7. This is a easily falsifiable assertion made by 9/11 Troofers.

Since Troofers seem to like YouTube videos as "evidence" and "data" here is one concerning the Twin Towers:

your explanation of NIST's 'new phonomenon' and that it was significant in the collapse is clear and makes sense. How did those failures allow the upper 40 stories of the building to fall for over 2 seconds at freefall acceleration? As NIST states occurred.

No resistance whatsoever would have to have been present during those 2 seconds of freefall, meaning no work being done for other things such as breaking beams and pulverising concrete. So what removed the 7 floors (equivalent to 2 seconds freefall) so completely as to allow the entire remaining mass of the building to simply drop in freefall?
