Earth's rotation around its own tilted axis is about 700 mph. If we consider a specific city, say LA, then it is spinning at 700 mph. How is it that LA has the 4 distinct seasons, since it is spinning around; I understand that in Winter the sun's rays strike the earth more obliquely because of the tilt of the axis relative to the plane in which we orbit the sun. Doesn't this spinning on its own axis (say LA) cancels out its the 4 seasons?
Thanks!

I know you've missed me, Martin.

Next step, getting the forum back under control. I'm a little scared to go in there!
